Two men accused of raping the same girl in York city centre have been found not guilty.
Fahim Khan, 18, and 20-year-old Zaid Zahir, were accused of raping the girl in separate incidents on the same day.
Both denied the allegations, claiming that the sex was consensual.
Today at York Crown Court, following a five-day trial, the two men were acquitted by a jury of seven men and five women after deliberating for over four hours.
The teenage girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said she had been drinking vodka before being attacked in separate incidents by Mr Khan and Mr Zahir in the early hours of August 28 last year.
The girl claimed she was first raped by Mr Khan by the riverside path between the Coppergate Centre and Castle Car Park.
She alleged she was later raped by Mr Zahir on a riverside walk near North Street Gardens.
She claimed she was too drunk to consent to sex. But the men denied she was drunk.

Mr Khan, formerly of Thorpe Lane, Cawood, near Selby, but lately of no fixed address, and Mr Zahir, of Rosebery Street, off Leeman Road, York, were each charged with rape but denied the allegations.
After they were acquitted, Judge Sean Morris, the Recorder of York, discharged Mr Khan and Mr Zahir and ordered their release.
