Firefighters were called to two fires started deliberately in York last night (Sunday).
Crews from Huntington went to reports of a small fire in woodland in New Earswick at 8.02pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish a tent and a rubbish pile. The cause was deliberate.”

Then at 10.17am a crew from York responded to reports of a commercial bin on fire on Olympian Court.
The spokesperson said: “Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause was deliberate.”
