Firefighters tackled two fires started deliberately last night.
The first one was in Acomb at 6.30pm.
It involved “a small fire in the open which had been lit deliberately,” said North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson.
“The crew extinguished the fire using knapsack sprayers.”
Then Acomb firefighters went to an incident on Hob Moor at 8.20pm.
The spokesperson said: “The Acomb fire crew liaised with residents and extinguished a bonfire in woodland. Advice given to youths.”
