Two cats shot and wounded with air rifles in York
This is Bernard the cat. He has been through the wars thanks to some cruel person who shot him with an air rifle.
He was shot in the Malvern Avenue area of York between 9am on Monday, March 9 and 5pm on Tuesday, March 10.
Bernard was hit in the lower back. He had to have an operation to remove the pellet – which was close to his spine.
His owners have had to pay the veterinary costs.
Harvey another victim
In a separate incident, a cat called Harvey was shot with an air rifle in the Fulford or Heslington area on Sunday, March 15 between noon and 4pm.
He was shot at either close range or with a high powered air rifle.
Harvey has been treated by a vet for his injuries and is currently being cared for in Leeds.
Police say he was very lucky to come through this incident and had a pellet removed from between his heart and lungs.
Do you know who was responsible for either of these cruel attacks or have any information that could help our investigation?
