Good news for cyclists. Although restrictions are in place in front of York Minster during works to create the South Piazza – and these will be made official with signs and ramps from Monday – cyclists will be encouraged to use the route when all the work’s finished (see artist’s impression, above). A council spokeswoman told YorkMix: “Cyclists will have access along here afterwards, as you know it’s one of the key cycling routes in/out of the city centre so this will be encouraged.” Full release here.
