The shows to see in York this month – October 2015
Autumn has officially arrived and October brings us some absolutely fantastic theatre productions. Here’s my top picks for this month…
Vampires Rock: The Ghost Train
This fun and flamboyant show is going to rock your socks off at the Grand Opera House.
The story follows Barron Von Rockula and his clan of bloodthirsty vampires searching for a new home after their club burned to the ground.
Featuring classic songs such as We Will Rock You and Bat Out Of Hell, this musical is a must see for the rockers of York.
Jesus Christ Superstar
Jesus Christ Superstar is one of the most well-known and loved musicals of all time. Performed by some of the best musical theatre stars and X-Factor finalist Rachel Adedeji, you can expect to see a phenomenal, breathtaking production.
Dreamboats and Miniskirts
Take a trip down memory lane with the sequel to Dreamboats and Petticoats.
Set in 1963, featuring all your favourite Sixties rock ’n’ roll hits, follow the story of Bobby and Laura and Norman and Sue in this charming musical.
When the Lights Go On Again
Following York Musical Theatre’s successful production on When The Lights Go On Again back in 2009, the show returns this month to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
The nostalgic and hilarious production looks back at the sketches and songs which lifted Britain’s spirits during the war.
Featuring Max Miller’s comedy sketches and the sweet sounds of the Andrews Sisters, this is a real nostalgia fest.
The Addams Family
Get into the spirit of Halloween at local theatre company Pick Me Up Theatre’s production of The Addams Family. The loveable, spooky family will provide fun and entertainment for the whole family.
