Teenager stabbed near Selby – One man arrested
A North Yorkshire teenager was stabbed early today.
An 18-year-old man suffered stab wounds in Thorpe Willoughby, near Selby, at around 2am today (Sunday).
He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. The suspect, from the Selby area, remains in custody for questioning.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “We recognise that such an incident will have been alarming to local people.
“However, please be reassured that the wider community were not believed to have been at any risk at any time.
“Residents may continue to see an increased police presence in the area as we continue our investigation, including carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
“Our thanks to everyone who has called in and provided information so far.”
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area from around 2am, or has any dash-cam or doorbell camera footage that may assist the investigation is asked to call North Yorkshire Police.
