York Has Talent
We all know that Britain’s Got Talent, but has York been hiding some gems of its own? Monks Cross Shopping Centre is hosting a whole range of acts this Saturday, May 31 from 1 – 4pm so join in the frivolity, have a boogie and get your shopping done at the same time. Simon Cowell aint seen nothing yet.
Musician Richard Durrant stops in York this weekend on his Giant Escape City cycling tour of Britain. He brings all his gear – guitar, amp, lights – on the back of his bike. You can enjoy this unusual in-store gig on Saturday, May 31 at Giant York from 3pm.
It must be fête
The Tour de France is pedalling our way, and it’s time for another round of York celebrations: the Fête du Tour. Plenty of French or cycle themed entertainment is planned for the city centre on Saturday from 10am to 4pm, or join the Bike Belles as they set out to paint York’s National Cycle Network mileposts yellow this Sunday, June 1 from 10.30am.

The East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club is bringing its wealth of classic motors to Eden Camp this Sunday, June 1. It’ll be a great day away from bike mania while you get up close and personal with motoring history, from VW Campers to Bentleys, available to ogle between 10am and 5pm.
York Spring Show
Made In Yorkshire are back to brighten even the most overcast days with rows of creative and independent local stalls in their marquee on Parliament Street. So head along and treat yourself to something hand made from Red Bear Jewellery or some landscape photography by Dennis Bromage this Thursday, May 29 – Sunday, June 1 10am – 5pm.
