Sheriff of York to hold special ball for the King’s Coronation
The Sheriff of York Suzie Mercer is holding a special Coronation Ball – to celebrate the historic event of King Charles’ Coronation.
The Coronation Ball will take place at The Grand Assembly Rooms on Sunday 7 May 2023.
YorkMix Radio presenter Laura Castle spoke to Suzie this morning (Monday) to find out more.
“It will be a sparkling wine reception, we’ve got a wonderful three course dinner, and after we’ve sang the National Anthem everyone can relax and dance the night away,” said the Sheriff of York, Suzie Mercer.
“We’ve organised for 20-piece Big Band 106 to come and play for us.
“It’s a historic event and will be a night to remember.”
It will be a black-tie and ball gown event – dress to impress!
A raffle will also take place during dinner. Proceeds from the evening will be going towards The Lord Mayor of York’s Charity Fund for the Cost of Living Crisis, in partnership with the Two Ridings Community Foundation.
