Serious sexual assault in York: Teenager arrested

A man has been arrested on suspicion of a serious sexual assault in York.

An attack took place last night (Wednesday 14 April).

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers and enquiries are ongoing.”

The man, aged 18, is currently in police custody.

These are all the details that have been released this evening.

Today the police helicopter was seen above York, including the Acomb area, for several hours.
