The award is presented to an individual who stands out from the crowd and has excelled at the Enforcement Academy.
They must have embedded the learning and ethos into their organisation and be passionate about the work that they do and the results they achieve.
The awards recognise and celebrate local authorities that are committed to making significant improvements to the environment on people’s doorsteps, from community engagement work to waste enforcement work.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive, Allison Ogden-Newton, said: “We know that people want to live in places that are clean and tidy and local authorities have a massive role to play in this and should rightly be recognised for their efforts.
“We look forward to seeing representatives from Ryedale District Council at our awards ceremony in Birmingham in February.
Margaret Wallace, Director of People and Resources for Ryedale District Council said: “We’re delighted that Martyn’s ethos and efforts have been recognised nationally.
“One of our key Council Plan aims is to make Ryedale a sustainable, safe and clean place.
“Our teams achieve this by taking tough action on littering, dog fouling and fly-tipping through proactive and dedicated enforcement.”
The Keep Britain Tidy Awards will be presented at the charity’s annual Network Conference at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole hotel on Thursday 10 February 2022.
