Robber threatens York supermarket worker with sharp implement

A worker at a York supermarket was threatened with a sharp implement during a robbery, police have revealed.

Now officers hunting the offender have released this CCTV image as part of their investigation.

It happened at Sainsbury’s on Burton Stone Lane at about 9pm on Wednesday 19 January.

A A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The offender used a sharp implement to threaten a member of staff and left empty handed.”

Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the person in the image above as they believe they will have information that will help the investigation.
