The rail union, the RMT, has called another strike for Wednesday 27 July in the row over pay
Union leaders rejected a new offer from Network Rail which they described as “paltry”.
In North Yorkshire this will hit LNER, TransPennine Express and Northern Trains. Other operators like CrossCountry, Grand Central and Hull Trains at Selby may also be affected.
Last time services were reduced to core routes only
The RMT says Network Rail members will strike from 2am on 27 July for 24 hours, and members of the train operating companies will take action from just after midnight until 23.59pm on the same day.
Network Rail’s offer had included a 4% pay rise backdated to January, plus further rises to come of around another 4%
A report from Sky News says more was on offer for those paid under £30,000, as perks like discounted travel for families.
Last time there was a strike some stations in North Yorkshire were closed including Malton Sherburn, Selby and the line between York and Harrogate.
