Police have taken action to clamp on anti-social behaviour in one area of York.
They have introduced a Section 35 dispersal order in Haxby this weekend.
Running from 3pm yesterday (Saturday) to 2am tomorrow (Monday) it is designed to nip trouble in the bud.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A Section 35 dispersal order can be used by Police Officers and designated PCSOs to deal with individuals aged 10 or over engaging in anti-social behaviour or crime and disorder – not only when they have occurred or are occurring, but when they are likely to occur and in any locality.”
Last month the neighbourhood policing team stepped up its patrols in Earswick and Haxby “following an increase in anti-social behaviour in the area that is affecting the local community”.
“Any anti-social behaviour will be dealt with swiftly,” police said.
