Police seize large quantity of drugs in North Yorkshire operation – Two men in court
Two men have appeared in court after a police operation seized a large quantity of drugs in North Yorkshire.
Acting on a tip-off about a vehicle heading into the county, officers from the North Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Group and other specialist departments went to intercept it.
They brought the vehicle safely to a stop on the southbound carriageway of the A1 just before Wetherby at about 2pm yesterday (Thursday).
Police discovered a very large quantity of what is believed to be cannabis inside.
Two men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. Further detailed searches were carried out at an address in West Yorkshire.
A man in his 30s from Leeds and a man in his 40s of no fixed address were remanded in custody and today appeared before magistrates in Harrogate.e
