A man approached a girl aged 11 in a York alleyway and told her ‘she was cute’.
Police have today issued a description of the man in their attempts to find him.
The incident happened in the alleyway just off Tennent Road in Acomb at about 3.10pm on Friday (12 November).
The man asked the girl for her name and her age before making the ‘cute’ remark. As she cycled away from him, he shouted after her.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for any information that could help us to identify him.”
The man is described as
- white
- between 30 and 50 years old
- of average build
- around 5ft 10ins tall
- with a tan
- very dark brown almost black hair
- and he spoke with an accent.
He is also described as having a scar under his right eye that was approximately 2cm in length and he was wearing all black.
