Firefighters tackled a serious fire at a York flat yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Crews from York, Acomb and Huntington were called to the fire at 4.14pm, close to Fulford Road. The full address has not been disclosed.
Firefighters using four breathing apparatus put out the fire.
But it caused “100% smoke damage and 20% heat damage to the property”.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Lots of equipment was used including four sets of breathing apparatus to search for any possible occupants in the flat.
“No persons were found and crews were able to extinguish the fire.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire investigation officers and police.”
