York police are appealing for information following the theft of a mobile phone from a vehicle in the city.
It was taken from a City of York Council rapid response van, in the eastern side of the city, between 7am and 10.30am on Friday 3 May 2013.
The blue Samsung Galaxy contains sentimental photographs of the owner’s children.
PC Lee Smith, of York Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The theft of the phone and the photographs it holds has naturally upset its owner.
“If you know anything about this theft or can help to identify the thief, I urge you to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers straight away.”
