Emergency services rescued a woman from a bridge in York tonight (Wednesday).
Police and fire crews were called out to the railway bridge across Huntington Road.
The fire rescue team lit the River Foss with spotlights, while another crew put a ladder against the side of the bridge on the far side of the river from the road.
Throw lines had also been brought to the scene.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “York and Acomb fire crews, on request by police, assisted in bringing a female down to ground safely from a footbridge, by use of a 9 metre ladder.
“Female left in care of paramedics.”
