Police formed a human chain

With the unusual hashtag #wetboots, police in York have revealed how they saved a person from drowning on Tuesday night (January 10).

Officers linked arms to form a human chain before entering the water.

The North Yorkshire Police Firearms Support Unit tweeted how their officers and police from York joined together to “save a person who entered intending to harm themselves”.

They said:

Officers put the person’s safety first and dragged them out and is fine and receiving the help they need.

Their work was appreciated on Twitter…

@NYPFirearmsUnit Well done – your work is much appreciated #utmost respect to you all ……
