Police are investigating a double motorcycle theft in York early today (Wednesday).
It happened on Gillygate between 1.45am and 2.15am. At least one man damaged and stole two motorcycles, walking them from the area.
One motorcycle has since been recovered. But the other is still missing, and the identity of the thief or thieves isn’t known.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything around this time. Any information which could identify the tracks of the male may help in tracking them down.”
The man who was seen is described as:
- white
- aged in his early 20s
- and wearing a light coloured tracksuit.
