Perky poodles Mocha and Button could fetch an award for the York photographer who pictured them at playtime.
This photo of the two dogs taken by photographer Andrea Denniss has won through to the finals of the Master Photographer Association Awards.
Andrea’s action shot of toy poodles Mocha and Button frolicking on a deserted beach has already earned her a coveted merit by the MPA and she could be in line for a further accolade when the category winners are announced on October 20.
“I was thrilled to hear that photo had got through the first round of judging but a merit and now a place in the finals is really very exciting,” said Andrea.
“This pair of toy poodles were such fun to shoot and so full of character. Their owner is thrilled to bits too.”
The MPA is the photographic industry’s leading organisation and the annual awards attract entries from members worldwide.
Andrea Denniss, owner of Pink Lily Photography in New Earswick has been a licentiate of the MPA since 2012 and is currently working towards her MPA associate qualification.
In addition to her popular “doggie shoots” for owners and their pets Andrea runs specialist courses in dog photography for professionals and amateurs at Aspire Photography Training in Cumbria.
