Pix and video: Museum Gardens is back!
Museum Gardens opened again today, and it looks as beautiful as ever.
Months after the park was locked away, the gates were swung open shortly before 10.30am.
Grateful residents strolled around in the sunshine, and relaxed on the benches.
York Museums Trust kept the gardens closed even after lockdown restrictions were eased because of the cost of reopening them.
But from now on it will be open daily from 10.30am till 6pm.
Signs ask people to social distance. And there is only one entry, via Museum Street, with the exit near the art gallery
In the gardens there are two places to get refreshments – the Coffee Bike at the front of the Yorkshire Museum, and The Garden Shed behind the ruined abbey.
