Latest: All lines open again after an attempted cable theft on main rail route
It’s not a strike day, but there is more woe for rail passengers today (Monday).
An attempted signal cable theft blocked part of the East Coast Main Line.
Hull Trains at Selby and LNER and Grand Central at York and Northallerton on the London route were being disrupted.
LNER issued a DO NOT TRAVEL unless you have to warning earlier, as services that could run were very busy
“Due to today’s disruption and the number of cancellations across our route, we are allowing customers to defer their travel. Tickets dated today Monday 27 June may use their tickets to travel tomorrow Tuesday 28 June, Wednesday 29 June, Thursday 30 June and Friday 1 July.”
All lines are now open again but there will still be delays until trains are back to their usual paths.
