One man was taken to hospital after being cut free from the wreckage of a serious crash near Easingwold.
Two vans collided on the A19 close to Raskelf.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene at 4.19pm yesterday (Friday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb and York responded to a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision involving two vans resulting in one casualty being trapped.
“Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the casualty who was taken to hospital via road ambulance.”
North Yorkshire Police described it as a serious crash. The A19 was closed for some as emergency services worked at the scene.
