One of York’s city centre parks will reopen tomorrow (Monday).
Dean’s Park, next to York Minster, will open from 10am.
The Minster authorities said: “Please respect the guidelines currently in place across the country, protect yourselves and others where possible, and enjoy your visit.
“For the health and safety of others, we remind all visitors that ball games, smoking and dogs are not permitted in the park.”
Dean’s Park will then be open from 10am to 6pm, seven days a week.
The city centre’s other big park, Museum Gardens, is still closed.
It is run by York Museums Trust, which says: “Currently York Museums Trust is not in a position to reopen the York Museum Gardens, a registered botanical gardens which require high levels of maintenance and security because of the plants and trees, Scheduled Monuments and Listed buildings within them.”
At the moment 80% of trust staff are furloughed, which includes the majority of the garden team.
