A man had to be taken to hospital for treatment after being assaulted at a bar during last weekend’s race meeting.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at 11.30am on Saturday (20 August).
It involved two men in the County Stand bar.
The victim, a 55-year-old man, was taken to York Hospital by ambulance. He was discharged following treatment for minor facial injuries.
A 49-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released under investigation while enquires continue.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for information about what happened during the assault and who was involved.”
