What could be better than enjoying the beautiful scenery of a York river cruise?

Enjoying a cruise while tucking into a plate of the finest fish and chips!

And that mouthwatering prospect has just been made real thanks to a new partnership.

Sightseeing specialists City Cruises York has announced a new addition to its line-up: the Fish & Chips Cruise.

Guests will enjoy a 90-minute cruise through the city and the surrounding countryside while savouring delicious, award-winning fish and chips from York’s own Mr Chippy.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Mr Chippy to offer visitors to the city an unrivalled fish and chips experience in York,” said Chris Pegg, commercial and marketing manager at City Cruises.

“Their commitment to quality and freshness is unmatched, and we know our guests will love the taste and the convenience of enjoying it while seeing the sights of our beautiful city before their very eyes.”

In addition to providing a unique experience, the Fish & Chips Cruise provides increased custom to a local York business – one of the key pillars of the Good Business Charter that City Cruises signed up to in 2022.

“I am excited to work with City Cruises to bring the best fish and chips in York to the River Ouse”, said Andy Pericleous, owner of Mr Chippy.

“Fish and chips is a great British tradition and what better way to enjoy it than on a cruise while taking in the beautiful riverside of the city.”

The Fish & Chips Cruise is available for pre-booking only and will run on select dates from February to November.

On board, guests will also be able to enjoy a wide range of refreshments available at the on-board bar, background music, and live captain’s commentary.
