The Skateboard Park at Norton, subject of a campaign to save the Half Pipe feature, has now been closed completely.
Ryedale District and Norton Town Councillor, Dinah Keal says it’s because of faults on some of the equipment and they need to do repairs to make it safe.
A campaign is underway to restore the giant Half Pipe feature and there will be another meeting of Norton Town Council to sort this issue out next week.
Tonight (Thursday) that date has now been confirmed as Wednesday 18 August at 6:30pm at Ryedale Indoor Bowls Club.

Di Keal told YorkMix: “There have been tears in the surfaces on some of the ramps and there are bolts missing too. That could be dangerous for people using the park
“The view is that it should be closed for the time being until the contractor can come back and do those repairs because the last thing the town council and the Rescue the Ramp campaign want is an accident and a maybe a child getting hurt.
“The Half Pipe is a separate issue and the campaign to keep it goes on”
Meanwhile campaigner Ryan Swain urged local people who support the park to sign up to speak at the meeting in person.
