A man needed tetanus jabs after being bitten by a dog near the river in York.
Police are investigating the incident. It happened on the football pitch near to the cycle track in between the church on Leeman Road and Scarborough Bridge at around 10.45am on Thursday (October 18).
A man was cycling onto the football pitch in order to get to the riverfront when a loose dog chased after him and bit his right leg.
Abusive and aggressive
The owners were abusive and aggressive towards the male and refused to provide any details.
There were approximately three people with two dogs, and the dogs were black and brown and of an unknown breed.
The victim suffered a puncture wound and bruising to his right leg, and was offered a tetanus jab and antibiotics.
A North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
