A cyclist who was seriously hurt in an accident in York has died of his injuries.
The man died in hospital this afternoon (Monday 8 April).
Police say they are not yet in a position to release the identity of the man, aged 51.
It follows an accident on Sunday (7 April) on Holgate Road. At 7.15pm, emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a cyclist and a parked car.
The cyclist was treated at the scene for serious head injuries.
He was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.
Following the collision, the road was closed for a number of hours to allow police to examine the scene.
North Yorkshire Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the cyclist involved. He was riding a yellow cycle, and wearing a grey sports top, blue cargo trousers and a khaki baseball cap.
