The father of a man who went missing in York more than two years ago is searching for him in Cornwall.
Rory Johnson-Hatfield, from Skipton, was last seen shortly before 1am on November 20, 2015, shortly after he left the York Central Travelodge in Piccadilly.
Despite an extensive investigation, Rory – who would now be 31 – has never been found.
His parents, Doug and Liz, have always maintained that he didn’t fall in the river.
And now, according to reports in Cornwall Live on Tuesday (March 20), the search has moved to the picturesque coastal town of Fowey.
Travelled from France
A family friend reported seeing Mr Johnson-Hatfield in the town last week. Mr Hatfield said this was the first lead to finding his son the family has had.
He told the website: “There is a good chance that it was Rory. He was spotted last week – I came over to see if I could find him.”
He added:
This is the first time we have ever had a lead – we’ve never had one before. I live in France now with Rory’s brothers and sisters. I took the overnight ferry here.
Rory was featured in the Britain’s Got Talent Missing People Choir but because he went missing in York we’ve never had any national coverage. It’s hard to get his story out.
He appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
Information can be reported to the police or via the Missing People charity on 116 000, or via the Facebook page.
