New restaurant opening in York next month – and it’s recruiting
A popular York restaurant has announced that it is moving, expanding – and recruiting.
The Corner Grill House, on Walmgate at its junction with Merchantgate, is on the up.
It has outgrown its premises and has announced it will open a new restaurant in April.
In posts on social media the Corner Grill House team said: “We have an exciting announcement!
“After ten successful years at our restaurant on Walmgate, we are moving the restaurant to larger premises, just five mins walk away!
“Renovations are underway and we are aiming to open the new restaurant at the end of April.”
They are looking for “talented, hard-working and dedicated chefs and front of house staff” – if you are interested, you can get in touch via [email protected].
“In the meantime, it’s service as normal at Walmgate – we hope to see you soon!” they said.
Customers were delighted. “Absolutely amazing place! You deserve a bigger space!” one said.
Corner Grill House has won several accolades. It was twice named ‘Steakhouse of the year’ in the Yorkshire Prestige awards, and was named in the Ten Best Date Night Restaurants by TripAdvisor in 2021.
On the restaurant website, they say: “The ethos of our restaurant is simple: use the very best seasonal and locally sourced ingredients that are on our doorstep and conjures the very best of them – because Yorkshire has some of the best produce in the world.
“That’s why we only work with suppliers and farmers that are as passionate about growing as we are about cooking.”
