New kit on the block! Geri moves into the home of the much-missed York Minster cat
Introducing Geri who has been named in honour of the beautiful and well known ‘York Minster Cat’ Gerald.
She will be a sweet new companion for Donald, Gerald’s brother, she will live a safer calmer life around the Minster in York too.
Geri is a three-year-old snow mink bengal from Russia who has been re-homed by Justine Spencer and her family after suffering from severe trauma over there.
It’s not clear what happened but it is clear it will take her a while to adjust to the love and warmth given by a new family.
Justine told YorkMix: “She will never replace our dear Gerald but we hope that she will be a new companion for Donald and that, in Gerald’s memory, we can give her a new chance at a happy life.”
Justine added: “She is entirely mute, super nervous and mostly in hiding so will remain an indoor cat but is slowly starting to come out of her shell to eat, drink and to play again’
“We look forward to giving Geri the loving home that she deserves.”
