Hundreds of homes have been hit by power cuts in York this evening (Wednesday).
And some might not see their electricity restored until 1am.
Three separate blackouts are being reported.
One, affecting 620 properties, is in the YO31 and YO32 postcode areas. It was reported at 7.46pm. Northern Powergrid estimates that power will be returned by 10pm.
A second, affecting 140 properties, has hit the YO2, YO23 and YO24 areas. This one came through at 7.22pm, and the power should be restored by 1am.
And the third, affecting 130 properties, is affecting YO10, YO19 and YO42. Reported at 7.27pm, power is expected to be back here by 10.30pm.
All three are said to be caused by “an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area”, according to Northern Powergrid.
It has put back the estimated time when power will return “due to the complexity of the work required”.
