A mother challenged her 14-year-old son about an incident of vandalism in Norton and brought him into the police station to be questioned.
Ryedale Officers say that In total, four 14-year-olds boys were interviewed regarding the damaged window and all admitted to their part.
PC Jane Jones said: “They have agreed to pay compensation to cover the cost to get the window repaired.
“They have also agreed to take part in restorative justice with the victim which includes apologising for the damage and upset they have caused.
“I thank the victim and the parents for supporting this process which will hopefully put a stop to such offending in the future.”

Police in Ryedale were appealing for witnesses and information about the smashed window in Norton.
It happened on Park Road at 7.45pm on Saturday (15 October 2022)
