He’s a man who sizzles like a veggie sausage.
And now York man Lawrence Crawford is in the running to be voted Britain’s hottest vegan.
The 26-year-old has beaten numerous contestants to be one of seven male finalists in a contest that covers the whole of UK and Ireland.
All he needs now is your votes to be declared overall champion.
Campaigning for kindness
Lawrence, a community support developer, describes himself as a nature-loving big kid.
He’s also is a big advocate for animal rights.
“On a daily basis, I ensure I show kindness and compassion to all living beings,” he told competition organiser PETA, the animal charity.
“I like to think of myself as a whistle-blower for animals and am always prepared to speak up for their justice and rights, whether it’s on the street or behind the computer.
“If we can’t be kind to animals, how will we ever be kind to each other?”
You can vote for Lawrence to take the title on the PETA website here.
“Each one of the finalists in PETA’s contest is a testament to how sexy vegans are – inside and out,” says PETA director Elisa Allen.
She has a point – but the York lad must be the frontrunner.
Each winner – one man and one woman – will receive an eight-course vegan taster menu for two at top London restaurant Gauthier Soho.
Voting on the finalists to help PETA determine the winners will run until Friday (July 28). Winners will be chosen by PETA based on several factors, including vote count, and will be announced by August 4.
