A pedestrian was seriously hurt in a crash by the river in York today (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to Dukes Wharf, off Terry Avenue at 12.29pm.
Fire crews from York, Acomb and Tadcaster responded to the collision.

A single vehicle crash had left one man pinned against a wall.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews released the male pedestrian using crew power and a drag sheet, and made the scene safe.
“One male was transported to hospital via road ambulance suffering life altering injuries.”
