Man killed in collision with milk tanker in North Yorkshire
A pedestrian has been killed in a collision with a milk tanker in North Yorkshire today (Tuesday).
At 12.20am, police were called out to reports of a serious collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A684 Harmby Road, at Harmby near Leyburn.
The incident involved a white milk tanker and a pedestrian. Sadly, the pedestrian, a local man who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours to allow police to carry out investigation work at the scene of the incident. It reopened just before 8am.
The tanker driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the pedestrian, milk tanker and or any other vehicle travelling along Harmby Road between midnight and 12.20am, to come forward.
