A man has appeared at court following a 24 minute police pursuit in the York and Selby areas.

John Leonard Frame, aged 40, of Victoria Road, Scarborough, was arrested at 1.45am on Monday (June 11) after a blue Ford Galaxy people carrier was forcibly stopped by a tyre-bursting stinger device and a police vehicle.

The pursuit began at the Fulford interchange in York at 1.21am and ended on Hillam Common Lane in Selby.

A police helicopter assisted the operation.

Following questioning in custody, Frame was charged and appeared at York Magistrates’ Court in relation to:

The case has been committed to York Crown Court on July 3. Frame was remanded in custody.
