A woman walking alone in York was grabbed by a man who stole from her pockets, police have revealed.

The robbery happened at around 4.15pm on Tuesday (March 10).

The women was walking on Haleys Terrace, York, on the end of the ginnel which leads to the rear of Nuffield Hospital.

A man approached her, grabbed her by her jumper and took her property from her pockets.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to determine the full circumstances.

They would like to talk to a female jogger who ran past the victim immediately after the incident. Police are asking for anyone with information about the jogger, or the jogger herself, to contact them as a matter of urgency.

Detectives are also appealing for information about a man in his 50s with grey hair wearing a three-quarter length army green coloured jacket who was also seen in the area at the time.
