A man is fighting for his life in hospital after an attack in Thirsk.
It happened near Thirsk Industrial Park at around 5.35pm yesterday (Monday).
He was attacked as he walked along York Road near the second junction, heading out of Thirsk, that leads to the industrial estate.

Police came across the man, who is local and aged in his 30s, laid on the pavement with serious head injuries.
He was airlifted to James Cook Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who was in the area at the time, including the moments before the incident.
The victim was wearing light coloured trousers and a black jacket.
Police are also searching for another man seen walking towards the industrial estate. He is muscular and was wearing a grey hooded top and tracksuit trousers.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place.
