A man has been charged in connection with the violent attack in York earlier this week.
Following the incident on Walmgate on Tuesday (3 June), police put out an appeal to find Robert Elkes aged 30.
North Yorkshire Police said he was arrested yesterday.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at York Magistrates’ Court today charged with wounding with intent and possessing a knife.
After the incident, a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the ambulance service to an incident in the Walmgate area of York at around 12.17pm on 3 June.
“A man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound to his chest.”
