Police have charged a man with dangerous driving after an incident in York city centre earlier this month.
YorkMix reported on 14 December that a driver made off in a car on city footstreets thronged with pedestrians after being stopped by a police community support officer.
The car stopped outside Boots on Coney Street and the driver made off.
Shortly afterwards a man was arrested by Firearms Support Unit officers.
Tonight (Wednesday), North Yorkshire Police revealed that they have charged a man with dangerous driving and driving without insurance following the incident.
The 21-year-old is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on Monday 10 January 2022.
