Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of a woman’s body at a North Yorkshire campsite.
Officers were called at 3pm yesterday (Monday) by staff at Bainbridge Ings campsite near Hawes, who had found the body in one of the camping pods on the site.
Police say she has now been identified and her family have been located and informed.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At the moment her death is being treated as unexplained and officers are carrying out enquiries to determine the circumstances around her death.
“A man in his forties from Lincolnshire has been arrested in connection with the incident. He has been taken into police custody where he currently remains.
“Officers are treating the woman’s death as an isolated incident and there is no immediate impact on the wider safety of the local community.”
