Man and woman arrested after violent confrontation in front of children outside York café

Police are investigating after a lunchtime confrontation outside a suburban coffee shop turned violent.

The incident happened outside the Coffee House on East Parade in Heworth, at around 12pm on Thursday 27 August.

It involved an altercation between a man and woman with three young children and a group of adults.

Two adults were assaulted resulting during the incident resulting  in a woman sustaining minor injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to contact them.
