Man, 41, died after getting trapped under a lorry in York

A man died after he became trapped under a lorry in York.

Paul John Harland, from Pickering, died on 23 September from injuries relating to the incident.

An inquest into his death was opened at Northallerton Coroner’s Court yesterday (Thursday).

Mr Harland was 41.

Senior coroner for York and North Yorkshire Jon Heath gave brief details at the inquest opening.

“The circumstances know at this time are that Paul John Harland was found trapped under an HGV vehicle,” he said.

The time of death was recorded at 10.57pm.

The provisional cause of death was a fracture to the base of the skull.

Mr Heath then adjourned the inquest to a date to be fixed.
