Updated: A64 near York reopens after burst water main is fixed

The A64 near York has reopened after being closed for most of Saturday due to a burst water main.
It was shut westbound between the A1237 York turnoff and the A659 Tadcaster junction. A detour was in operation – see below.
It was first reported closed at 6.06am.
At 2.58pm, Yorkshire Water issued an update. A spokesperson said: “Our teams are on site to complete a repair.
“We are working hard to keep disruption to a minimum and carry out the work as quickly as we can.
“Once repairs are complete, we will reinstate the road and reopen it as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
