York students arrive for skiing trip in France – to find the resort closed

More than 200 University of York students flew to France for a skiing trip, only to find that the resort had been closed.

The Tab is reporting that the 225 students arrived at Avoriaz on Saturday (14 March).

But at midnight a French government closed all non-essential public areas.

The travel company Wasteland Ski said they were working on a contingency plan to get everyone back to the UK.
