York police carry out more spot checks on motorists
York police are back on the roads checking where people are going today.
They have a checkpoint in place at Tadcaster Road.
Journalist Jerry Ibbotson says cars heading out of town are being pulled over into the Marriott Hotel where their drivers will be questioned.

Last week we reported how North Yorkshire Police were brining in a series of checks.
Assistant Chief Constable Mike Walker said: “We ask people not to make non-essential journeys, and to understand the definition of essential.
“We sincerely hope that we won’t have to resort to enforcement action, but if people do not comply, we will.”
